“To log on to this remote computer, you must have Terminal Server User Access permissions on this computer. By default, members of the Remote Desktop users group have these permissions. If you are not a member of the Remote Desktop Users Ggroup or another group that has these permissions, or if the Remote Dektop User group does not have these permissions, you must be granted these permissions manually”
If you are getting the error above when connecting to remote console, your server’s terminal service license period may be expired. You can check it in event viewer->System logs. If you see “TermService” error, you get this message:
The terminal server licensing grace period has expired and the service has not registered with a license server with installed licenses. A terminal server license server is required for continuous operation. A terminal server can operate without a license server for 120 days after initial start up.

For my case I edited registry keys mentioned at microsoft’s KB but it did not work. Then I changed date on the server(adjusted to 1 year ago) it worked for me.
Hi,
If you stop the TS Licensing service, go to C:\windows\system32\lserver, delete the TLSLic.edb file and start the TS Licensing again it will give you the 120 days again.
This does empty the database of licenses however – so don’t do it if you have applied any real ones and don’t wish to have to activate them again.
Cheers,
Tom
Doesn’t seem to work on Win 2008 R2
i had applied same process but it is still showing me 19 days as previous
